Originally from New York City , Cathy's family moved to Los Angeles in 1960 and she began her financial career in the mid 1960's clerking in the controller's office of a large construction firm. By the early 1970's she had made her way to the executive suites of Beverly Hills, Westwood, and Santa Monica through such diverse fields as real estate law, all phases of construction and cost accounting, and office administration.
The early 1980's brought a major career change, and with it the opportunity of knowledge in another specialized service.
As controller of a well respected talent agency, Cathy's experience in financial analysis, computer programming and client relations coupled with her construction background led naturally to an interest and subsequent move into the financial management field.
As a result of her background and experience, Cathy saw that the smooth, efficient application of prudent money management practiced in business was not always a priority in many people's personal lives.
Established in 1983 , O'Brien & Company is the product of that observation. A service designed specifically to provide a businesslike administration of everyone's increasingly complex financial affairs. Now residing in the Santa Cruz area to be near family, Cathy is looking forward to continued success.
